Habits, streaks, troubleshooting
A streak counts the number of consecutive days you completed a habit. Skipping a day resets the streak unless that day is a configured rest day. You can also manually mark a day as "skipped" without breaking the streak (Pro feature).
Yes. Each habit has its own schedule: daily, every N days, specific days of the week, weekends only, weekdays only. The streak counter respects the schedule — a Monday-Wednesday-Friday habit completed every M-W-F is a perfect streak.
No upper limit. We've seen users with 1,000+ day streaks. The Best Streak counter never decreases — only the current streak resets on a miss.
iOS schedules widget refreshes — typically every 15-60 minutes. Force refresh: long-press the widget → Edit Widget → Done. Or open Duse to trigger an immediate widget reload.
Check Settings → Notifications → Duse is allowed. iOS Focus mode (Do Not Disturb) suppresses non-Time Sensitive alerts — Duse uses standard notifications. If you've upgraded iOS recently, sometimes the permission resets — re-enable.
Streak increments at midnight (your timezone) once the day's quota is met. Marking a habit complete late in the day is fine. If a streak still isn't incrementing the next morning: force-quit the app and re-open. SwiftData sometimes lags on first read.
Duse stores data on-device only — no cloud backup. Reinstalling clears it. iCloud Drive Backup (set up in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud) backs up app data automatically. After restoring from backup, your habits are back.
Duse uses your iOS timezone — DST transitions shouldn't affect streaks. If you traveled across timezones, the day boundary may shift. Manually edit the affected entry from the Habit Detail view.
