Once English-only, Student Guardian is now fully translated into English, Chinese (Simplified), Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Italian, Russian, German, Korean, and Japanese. Onboarding, the dashboard, your email, calendar, students and settings screens, the paywall, empty states, and even notifications now speak your language — no more English alerts on your lock screen. Calendar weekday letters and percentages follow your region's format too.
Deleting a student now cleanly removes all of their emails, events, grade alerts, and summaries with nothing left behind. A single damaged record no longer wipes out an entire collection's history, and the app reliably recovers from its own backup. Freshly synced emails and events also appear right away instead of only after a relaunch.
"Reset All Data" now also disconnects your email account and purges the cloud-synced copy of your students and trusted sources, so a reset truly starts you fresh.
We fixed a security issue on the encrypted network path used for every secure request and hardened the AI summarization service against unauthorized access, keeping your family's information protected.
Previously in v1.2.3: hardened on-device encryption so a locked-phone background refresh can't lock you out of saved data, protected the daily reminder from being crowded out by a full inbox, added AES-GCM encryption for sensitive student information (v1.2.2), and the initial App Store release (v1.2.1).

Common issues and quick fixes
Older cached emails may predate a decoding fix. Go to Settings → Clear Emails & Re-sync to delete the cache and re-fetch from your connected accounts. Your students and trusted sources are preserved.
That's by design — Student Guardian only shows messages from your trusted sources so your personal email stays private. If a school message is missing, add that sender's address or domain to your Trusted Sources list.
Check your network connection first. If you're using your own API key (BYOK), confirm it's entered correctly in Settings → AI. Free accounts are limited to 5 summaries per month; upgrade to Premium for unlimited summaries.
Translation into all 15 languages is a Premium feature; free summaries are in English. Set your preferred language in Settings, then re-summarize an email to see it translated.
Check Settings → Notifications → Student Guardian → Allow. Also confirm you haven't silenced them with Quiet Hours, and that your Daily Digest time is set in the app's notification settings.
Trusted sources, sender roles, and student profiles sync via iCloud. Make sure both devices are signed into the same Apple ID with iCloud enabled, then open the app to trigger a sync.
